Description

1847 Seated Half, MS64
Razor-Sharp and Semiprooflike

1847 50C WB-101 MS64 PCGS. All Mint State 1847 half dollars are rare, but those grading finer than MS63 are particularly so. This near-Gem example was struck from fresh, still-polished dies, showing semiprooflike fields and intricate, fully detailed design elements. Only a few light grazes limit the grade. This piece displays lovely shades of champagne, lavender, and powder-blue toning. Population: 7 in 64, 8 finer (11/16).
