Rare in Mint State

1846 $2 1/2 MS61 PCGS. A partly lustrous and inoffensively abraded apricot-gold example. The strike is bold aside from softness on the right-side reverse dentils. An underappreciated Philadelphia issue with a scant mintage of 21,598 pieces. The date is rarely encountered in Uncirculated condition. Population: 4 in 61, 5 finer (1/17).(Registry values: P2)
