Description

1859 Quarter Eagle, MS63
Old Reverse Type

1859 $2 1/2 Old Reverse, Type One, MS63 PCGS. Wide arrowheads identify the Old Reverse type. This variety is scarcer in Mint State than the New Reverse counterpart, and it is genuinely rare in MS63 or better. This piece displays satiny wheat-gold luster with fewer abrasions than expected for the grade. The eagle's left (facing) leg exhibits the only mentionable strike weakness.(Registry values: P2)
