Description
1915-S Quarter, MS66+
Exquisite Visual Impression
1915-S 25C MS66+ PCGS. Intense mint luster glistens across
the silky-smooth surfaces of this high-end Premium Gem 1915-S,
while a faint patina of pale-violet and ice-blue hues add a
translucent glow of color. A splash of brassy-gold toning at stars
4 to 6 provides an exclamation point to the exquisite visual
impression. Only a bit of blending on the eagle's claw and arrow
fletchings subtracts from the otherwise full strike. David Lawrence
called this San Francisco issue "ticky-tacky" for the unavoidable
marks that appear on even high-grade pieces. This coin has a few,
but they are exceedingly minor in light of the overwhelming eye
appeal. Population: 20 in 66 (3 in 66+), 4 finer (2/17).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2424, PCGS# 5672, Greysheet# 5460)
