Description
1924 Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS67
Superb Representative of the Type
1924 $20 MS67 PCGS. Imbued with frosty radiance and
virtually free of marks, this Superb Gem twenty will be the
centerpiece of any high-grade double eagle or type collection. Mint
luster pours over the sharply struck, honey-gold surfaces. The
Superb Gem category is reserved for only the most exceptional
examples of the Saint-Gaudens double eagles, and although the 1924
is the most-available date in the series, the MS67 level is rarely
achieved. PCGS and NGC combined report more than 611,000 grading
events for the issue, with only 290 pieces that grade MS67 or
finer. PCGS has seen only one numerically finer piece. PCGS
population: 100 in 67 (2 in 67+), 1 finer (2/17).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26G7, PCGS# 9177, Greysheet# 10147)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
