Description

1857 Liberty Five, MS62
Underrated Philadelphia Issue

1857 $5 MS62 PCGS. In a series replete with rare issues, the 1857 is often overlooked in favor of more well-known scarcities, although serious collectors of the series know how challenging Mint State examples can be. Appearances are few and far between in our auctions. This is a vibrant and lustrous representative, with a minimum of tiny marks and maximum eye appeal. The strike is sharp throughout. Population: 15 in 62, 17 finer (3/17).(Registry values: P5)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25V2, PCGS# 8271, Greysheet# 8903)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
