Description

1915 Nickel, PR67+
Few Known Finer

1915 5C PR67+ PCGS. CAC. Light golden-gray toning graces this fully struck Superb Gem, which is essentially perfect aside from the occasional minute toning fleck. The matte finish proofs of this era were not particularly popular with numismatists of the day, since proof mintages fell well below the levels achieved by the Liberty nickel. Only 1,050 proofs were struck in 1915, and high-grade survivors are treasured today, particularly for their intricate strikes. Population: 69 in 67 (10 in 67+), 4 finer. CAC: 32 in 67, 3 finer (4/17).
