1856-S $3 XF40 NGC. Medium S. A die break occurs below LL in DOLLAR. The 1856-S claims the fifth-highest mintage in the series (34,500 pieces) but is seldom offered in grades higher than XF. Partial luster remains within the recesses of this green and rose-gold example.
