Colorful Gem Example

1829 10C Large 10C, JR-2, R.2, MS65 PCGS. Golden-brown and ocean-blue adorn this lustrous and beautiful Gem. Dashes of deep mauve patina are noted across the upper obverse. The strike is precise, particularly on the stars. Pristine save for a slender vertical graze on the cheekbone. The more available of just two "large denomination" die pairings -- the other is the scarcer JR-1 variety with an Extra Large 10C. Population (JR-2 variety): 1 in 65, 3 finer (5/17).
