Description
1920-D 5C MS64+ PCGS. Satiny mint luster rolls across both sides of this high-end near-Gem nickel. Subtle hints of pale-gold intermix with attractive and brilliant nickel-gray patina. The tip of the top feather is weak, as is the front of the bison's head -- the two main areas of incompleteness on most 1920-D nickels -- yet the balance of the strike is exceptionally sharp for the issue. A challenging (and expensive) Denver issue any finer. Population: 5 in 64+, 98 finer (6/17).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22RR, PCGS# 3945, GSID# 3120)
