Description

Immaculate 1959 Franklin Half Dollar
Sole Finest PR69 Cameo at PCGS

1959 50C PR69 Cameo PCGS. Ex: Blue Ocean. The Mint managed a production of 1.1 million half dollar proofs in 1959 -- the highest mintage for any proof issue to date in its history. And yet, just 1% of that total is estimated to show sufficient field-device contrast on each side to warrant a Cameo designation from one of the leading grading services. Actually, the certified population totals reflect an even smaller percentage of the original mintage with Cameo surfaces. Not only are Cameo proofs scarce, but they are rarely found in PR68. In fact, this is the sole PR69 Cameo specimen at PCGS (6/17). Each side is pristine, all-brilliant with captivating field reflectivity. A phenomenal offering that should generate spirited bidding.
