Description

1847 Seated Dollar, MS62+
High-End for the Assigned Grade

1847 $1 MS62+ PCGS Secure. CAC. OC-2, R.1. Osburn-Cushing Die State b/b. Uncirculated Seated dollars are scarce regardless of date, although the 1847 is moderately available to collectors. This Plus-graded example is CAC-endorsed and quite attractive for the grade. Pearlescent silver surfaces show a pleasing, pale-ivory sheen and plentiful mint luster. A light die crack runs beneath 847 in the date. A few light abrasions above the eagle's head and a minor reeding mark at its beak are noted, yet the surfaces are smooth, well-struck, and high-end for the assigned grade. Population: 16 in 62 (1 in 62+), 44 finer. CAC: 3 in 62, 4 finer (7/17).(Registry values: N2998)
