Description

1929-S Nickel, Multicolor MS67
The Single Finest at CAC

1929-S 5C MS67 PCGS. CAC. The 1929-S Buffalo nickel in MS67 is a major condition rarity, unknown finer. This example is the only top-grade coin endorsed by CAC. Previous offerings of a Superb Gem in our auctions have realized strong prices, with preference given to PCGS-graded coins. This is the first MS67 from either grading service to appear in our auctions since 2014, when another example realized $11,750 (Heritage, 2/2014). The beautiful multicolor border toning, olive-gold interiors, satiny luster, and CAC-endorsement make this piece arguably the most appealing 1929-S nickel known. The strike is boldly rendered, offering increased interest for a San Francisco issue of this period. Population: 10 in 67, 0 finer. CAC: 1 in 67, 0 finer (9/17).(Registry values: N2998)
