Strong Strike, Attractive Violet-Gray Patina
1800 $1 B-13, BB-193, R.3, XF40 PCGS. Bowers Die State III.
The reverse features prominent clash marks and a die crack above
AMERICA. This late die state of B-13 was formerly believed to be a
distinct variety, Bolender-18. Today, specialists recognize it for
what it is. Examples are among the most plentiful for the year.
This delightful example exhibits a strong strike softened only by a
brief stay in circulation. Smooth surfaces display violet-gray
