Description

1808/7 Half Dollar, O-101, Sharp MS63
Lustrous and Lightly Toned

1808/7 50C O-101, R.1, MS63 PCGS. Multiple die cracks and instances of die clashing appear on both sides of this lustrous and attractive example of the Reich Capped Bust design. The overdate is clear and, unlike most examples of even high-grade Uncirculated coins, the strike on this 1808 is exceptionally sharp. Some clear gold toning exists at the margins but this piece is otherwise brilliant and frosted. Only a few faint abrasions exist, easily overlooked among the numerous cracks and clashes that add interest to what is obviously a late die stage example. Population: 8 in 63, 12 finer (10/17).
