Description
1927-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, MS65+
Phenomenal Visual Appeal
1927-S 50C MS65+ PCGS Secure. CAC. Ex: Duckor. A 1927-S half
dollar in MS64 or lower grades is only marginally elusive, but the
issue's availability declines significantly at the Gem grade level.
Finer pieces are major series rarities and out of reach for most
collectors. This Plus-designated MS65 coin displays frosty,
carefully preserved surfaces. Iridescent lavender-gold and
champagne toning deepens to amber, russet, and aquamarine around
the borders. Liberty's thigh and branch hand are incompletely
struck, as usual for this San Francisco issue, but the overall
definition is good. An ideal coin for the advanced,
quality-conscious Walking Liberty half dollar collector.
Population: 79 in 65 (6 in 65+), 8 finer. CAC: 28% of submissions
for this issue/grade passed. 21 in 65, 5 finer (11/17).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2015), lot 5113.
