Description

1942-D 50C MS67+ PCGS. CAC. A beautiful, frosty Registry Set candidate, this Plus-graded Superb Gem is among the finest pieces endorsed by CAC. The strike lacks sharpness only on Liberty's branch hand and the eagle's trailing leg, although partial thumb separation is evident on the former. A thin crescent of deep burgundy toning below the date is the only mentionable color. PCGS lists five finer examples. CAC: 59 in 67, 0 finer (11/17).(Registry values: N991)
