A Major Rarity This Fine
1895-S $5 MS64 PCGS. Uncirculated examples of the 1895-S
half eagle are rare in all grades, especially in MS64 or finer.
This near-Gem displays a sharp strike and softly frosted luster.
Original honey-gold surfaces reveal no major abrasions. The six
finest examples of the 1895-S reported by the grading services are
two MS64s and two MS66s at PCGS, plus an MS65 and another MS66 at
