Description

1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar, MS65
Small Date, Small Letters, O-120

1834 50C Small Date, Small Letters, O-120, R.4, MS65 PCGS. The O-120 variety is identified by the "Stair Step" date and the "Horn Top" 5 in the denomination. This delightful Gem exhibits well-detailed design elements, with just a touch of softness on some of the stars and Liberty's hair. A vertical tine extends from the right (facing) shield point, and star 7 shows signs of recutting. The well-preserved surfaces radiate vibrant mint luster, under attractive shades of golden-tan and lavender toning. Stephen Herrman's latest census shows no specimen of the O-120 variety graded finer than MS64.
