Liberty's cheek is smooth and any field abrasions are softened by moderate circulation to give this Choice XF twenty a smooth appearance and substantial eye appeal. Radiant sun-gold color reinforces a surprising amount of mint luster in protected areas. While the 1850-O had a significant mintage of 141,000 pieces, most of these double eagles circulated to one extent or another, and few high-grade examples survive.
