Rare 1866 Double Washington Pattern, Judd-5221866 Five-Cents, Judd-522, Pollock-550, R.8, PR 64 Red and Brown PCGS. A dual obverse muling with George Washington on each side, the date on each side also. One side has UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the rim, while the other has the legend IN GOD WE TRUST. Struck in copper with a plain edge. One side (the obverse in the PCGS encasement) is mostly red with just a bit of bright blue in the fields. The other side is mostly blue and brown with bright mint red surrounding the rim. Lightly spotted, at the top of the obverse are several adjustment-like irregularities in the planchet, obviously done at the time of manufacture. An extreme rarity and apparently one of only two pieces known.
