Description:
Choice 1878 Morgan Dollar, Judd-1550A, PR 64
1878 Morgan Dollar, Judd-1550a, Pollock-1725, R.5, PR 64 PCGS. Very similar to the adopted design, mainly differing in the leaves below the eagle and lacking the notches on the undersides of the wings. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. The Judd-1550 is often scooped up as a collateral piece by the serious Morgan dollar collector. This piece is deeply toned in violet, russet, and sea-green shades, masking some significant hairlines to the left of the portrait, but overall leaving the underlying reflective qualities very much in evidence. (PCGS# 61550)
