Description

1913 Type One Buffalo Nickel, MS67+
Beautifully Toned With Radiant Luster

1913 5C Type One MS67+ PCGS. CAC. James Earle Fraser's rugged, sculptural relief designs are beautifully displayed on this high-end Superb Gem, with razor-sharp definition and seemingly flawless surfaces complementing iridescent lavender and ice-blue toning over vibrant, satiny mint bloom. This first issuance of the new Buffalo nickel was substantial (nearly 31 million coins), and many high-grade pieces were saved. Examples achieving the MS67 grade level are encountered with some frequency, but with only 13 numerically finer representatives certified by PCGS (5/14), this highly attractive Plus-graded example will be of special interest to the specialist.(Registry values: N991) (NGC ID# 22PW, PCGS# 3915)

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
