Description:
Near-Gem 1918-S Buffalo Nickel
1918-S 5C MS64 PCGS. The satiny surfaces on this piece show just the slightest hint of ice-blue, lilac, and rose toning. The obverse is a bit softly impressed, as usual, with the digits in the date being especially weak. The reverse, on the other hand, is very sharply defined with almost complete definition on the bison's head and a split in the tail. A few light specks of carbon are scattered over each side. Population: 115 in 64, 22 finer (4/03). (NGC ID# 22RK, PCGS# 3940)
