1925-S 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC....
Gem 1925-S Buffalo Nickel1925-S 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. A classic saying of business goes, "Fast, right, cheap: pick two." In the 1920s, the U.S. Mint opted for fast and cheap, pushing equipment such as dies well past the point where they would have been shelved in earlier years. The result is a quicksilver-frost texture to the luster, as seen on this Gem. Though softly struck -- once again a norm for this issue -- the coin is pleasing for its time with luminous peach, gold, and violet-blue hues enriching each side. Minimally abraded and conditionally rare this fine. Population: 24 in 65, 1 finer (11/12).(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 22S4, PCGS# 3956)
