Description:
1832 Half Dime, MS63
Very Rare V-14, LM-9.1
1832 H10C MS63 PCGS. CAC. V-14, LM-9.1, R.7. A very rare variety that pairs the "Scarface" obverse of LM-6 with the reverse of LM-8. The second S in STATES lacks a die break, confirming the early die state of LM-9. The obverse is moderately prooflike while the reverse has cartwheel luster. Light golden toning visits unmarked surfaces. Among the finest known examples of LM-9, though the Stewart Witham discovery piece auctioned in 1977 was cataloged as Gem, and Heritage offered an NGC MS63 example in our 2006 FUN Signature (lot 1640) that realized $4,600.(Registry values: N991) (NGC ID# 232E, PCGS# 4279)
