Description:
PCGS 1834 Classic MS 62. Large Head, Breen-5140. A rare mint state example of this popular first year of issue for the Kneass' Classic design. As with many 1834 quarter eagles, the fields of this piece are bright and prooflike. The strike is soft, as usual, on the hair curls and on the lower portion of the eagle, and the fields show a number of small marks, the only ones worthy of mention being a few parallel pinscratches below the eagle's right wing. Population: 16 in 62, 31 finer. (NGC ID# 25FS, PCGS# 7692)
