Description

Gem 1834 Classic Head Quarter Eagle

1834 $2 1/2 Classic MS65 PCGS. As the premier issue in the Classic quarter eagle series, the 1834 is an immensely popular coin among type collectors. Mint records indicate that 112,234 pieces were produced; therefore, it is no wonder that the 1834 is also among the more available dates in this series. At the Gem level of preservation, however, it is anything but common. Well struck, this example displays rich orange-gold surfaces that are remarkably free of any noticeable abrasions. For pedigree purposes, a tiny carbon fleck is noticed below the U in UNITED. A gorgeous Gem that would be hard to duplicate in any collection. (NGC ID# 25FS, PCGS# 7692)
