1839 $2 1/2 AU55 NGC. Breen-6148 Variety-21, R.3.. ...
Excellent Type Specimen
All of the 1839 Classic Head quarter eagles, a mintage exceeding 27,000 pieces, appear to have been produced from the same die pair, with the lowest hair curl atop the 9 in the date. This Choice AU coin displays excellent eye appeal over greenish-gold surfaces and would be an outstanding type specimen. The surfaces are virtually mark-free, with a strong strike. Census: 15 in 55, 22 finer (3/11).(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 25G2, PCGS# 7698)
