1839-D $2 1/2 AU50+ PCGS. CAC. Winter 1-A, Variety-26, R.3. A lightly circulated example of this popular Dahlonega issue, which is essential to a complete type set from the legendary Southern branch mint. Better struck than usual, with incompleteness limited to the junction of the shield with the left (facing) wing. The straw-gold surfaces display no consequential marks, although Liberty's cheek has a small oblong flan flaw, as made. Population: 19 in 50, 34 finer (11/10).(Registry values: P4) (NGC ID# 25G6, PCGS# 7700)
