Description

Choice VF St. Patrick Halfpenny
Vlack 1-A

(1670-75) 1/2P St. Patrick Halfpenny VF35 PCGS. Vlack 1-A, W-11540. Much scarcer than their farthing counterparts, the St. Patrick halfpennies were struck in England and later imported to New Jersey by Mark Newby in 1681. The present Choice VF piece is high grade for the issue. Even chocolate-brown toning drapes minimally abraded and minutely granular surfaces. The brass splasher overlies the right half of the crown. Listed on page 41 of the 2013 Guide Book. Population: 9 in 35, 6 finer (11/12). (NGC ID# AUAS, PCGS# 46)
