Description:
1722 1/2P Hibernia Halfpenny, Type One, Harp Left MS62 Brown NGC. Martin 4.3-Bc.1, W-12730, R.4. A tiny raised die line above the leftmost stop on the reverse (an "eyebrow") serves as a useful diagnostic. Delightful burgundy patina drapes both sides of this well-preserved piece. The effigy's head on the reverse is weakly struck, but the obverse is bold. Listed on page 42 of the 2011 Guide Book. MRB MS60.
Purchased from Richard Picker (8/29/1971).
