Near-Gem 1723/2 Hibernia Halfpenny

1723/2 1/2P Hibernia Halfpenny MS64 Brown PCGS. Small 3. Pellet before H. Breen-153. This bold overdate shows the curve and base of a 2 to the right of the 3. The surfaces are wonderfully glossy chocolate-brown and retain considerable portions of faded mint red. A pair of mint-made strike-throughs are noted near the seated effigy. Listed on page 43 of the 2008 Guide Book. Population: 1 in 64 Brown, 0 finer (12/07).
