Silver Restrike No Button PR63
1783 Washington Draped Bust Cent
1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, No Button, Engrailed Edge Silver Restrike PR63 PCGS. Baker-3A. The very scarce silver version of the W.S. Lincoln restrike, produced in the mid-19th century. The thick lettering distinguishes it from the Taylor proof restrike. Well struck and prominently mirrored with peripheral gold toning. The fields are lightly hairlined, and a few gray spots are distributed. The obverse is double struck, rotated slightly counter-clockwise within the collar between strikes. Listed on page 76 of the 2009 Guide Book.
