Description:
Silver Restrike No Button Draped Bust
1783 Washington Cent, PR63
1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, No Button, Silver Restrike PR63 NGC. Baker-3A, W-10380, R.6. Engrailed edge. The handsomely made proof restrike from mid-19th century London numismatist W.S. Lincoln, identified by the large 3 in the date. Judging by PCGS population data, the silver pieces are approximately three times rarer than the copper examples. Medium golden-brown, olive-green, and gunmetal toning encompasses this fully struck specimen. The surfaces are attractive, although we note edge defects near 8 o'clock on the obverse and 9 o'clock on the reverse. Listed on page 76 of the 2011 Guide Book. Census: 1 in 63, 1 finer (7/10). (PCGS# 688)
