Description:
1785 COPPER Connecticut Copper, African Head--Scratches--NGC Details. VF. M. 4.1-F.4, W-2355, R.1. The classic "African Head," the vastly more common of the two die pairs (see the rarer pair in this auction as well). Golden-brown surfaces have shallow planchet voids and scratches on the portrait and the field to its right. Listed on page 59 of the 2011 Guide Book. MRB VF20.
