Description:
1787 COPPER Connecticut Copper, AUCTOBI, ETLIR VG10 PCGS. Incorrectly certified by PCGS dated as 1786. Miller 39.2-ee, R.5. A rare Miller variety that has AUCTOBI instead of the usual AUCTORI (Latin for 'authority') on the obverse and ET LIR in place of the usual ET LIB (Latin for 'and liberty') on the reverse. Much sharper in places (especially INDE) than the assigned grade, but typically struck on the centers and right borders, and both sides have a couple of mint-made planchet flaws. Struck from widely rotated dies. Listed on page 43 of the 2004 Guide Book. (#379) (PCGS# 379)
