Description:
Superb Gem 1915-S Panama-Pacific
Two and a Half Dollar
1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS67 NGC. Subtle hints of rose-peach appear on this Superb Gem example. The piece displays matte-like surfaces that are virtually flawless, and even close examination under magnification fails to reveal any significant defects. Although this issue is common in Mint State and can be located with relative ease in grades as high as MS66, availability at the Superb Gem level drops off dramatically. Although 10,017 coins were produced, several thousand were melted, with an actual distribution of 6,749. NGC has assigned a 67+ grade to a single example, with none finer (3/13).
