Certified in an old green label holder. Although sculptors from outside the Mint designed the other two gold denominations from the Panama-Pacific commemorative program, the quarter eagle was a collaborative effort between veteran Mint engravers Charles Barber and George Morgan. Morgan based his design on the reverse of his famous Judd-1608 1879 "Schoolgirl" silver dollar pattern, although the stand of the defiant eagle was increased in size to accommodate the statutory legend E PLURIBUS UNUM.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 26HK, PCGS# 7450)
