Description:
1915-S Panama-Pacific Two and a Half, MS67
Tied for Finest at PCGS
1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS67 PCGS. CAC. The 1915-S Panama-Pacific quarter eagle is the largest gold commemorative coin from that famed observance -- now nearly a century in the rear-view mirror -- that most numismatists can afford, save for the few with pockets deep enough to acquire a nice Pan-Pac round or octagonal fifty dollar piece. This Superb Gem with the added CAC approval is also one of the finest survivors of the issue. PCGS has seen 29 submissions at this top grade level; none are finer (12/13). Rich, swirling luster complements the mellow apricot-orange color, and no mentionable contact impedes the excellent eye appeal. The strike is uniformly bold. A tiny reddish-brown toning area at PA(CIFIC) is likely an alloy spot, as made at the Mint and in any case undistracting. Population: 29 in 67, 0 finer (12/13).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 26HK, PCGS# 7450)
