Description:
Impressive 1915-S Panama-Pacific $50 Round MS63
1915-S $50 Panama-Pacific 50 Dollar Round MS63 NGC. The Pan-Pac Fifty is one of the most beautiful coins ever minted and it is rife with symbolic meaning. Stuck on the eve of America's involvement in the First World War, the Greek helmet is pushed back on Liberty's head in a ready but not fully combative posture. The owl on the reverse signifies watchfulness.
This bright green-gold specimen is one of only 483 pieces sold at the San Francisco Exposition and to Mint customers in 1915, the balance of the unsold coins produced being later melted. A few wispy surface marks are noticed under magnification on Liberty's portrait and in the reverse fields, but the severity of contact is indeed minimal for such a large, heavy gold coin.(#7451) (Registry values: P8, N29900) (NGC ID# 26HM, PCGS# 7451)
