Description:
Visually Stunning 1952 Washington-Carver Commemorative Half Dollar
1952 50C Washington-Carver MS67 PCGS. In discussing the relative importance of eye appeal, with respect to the assigned grade of a rare coin, it is usually acknowledged that outstanding visual quality is almost a requirement, for any coin aspiring to the Superb Gem category. The current offering would certainly seem to meet that criterion, by virtue of simply splendid aesthetic qualities, but it goes even further in establishing itself, not merely as one of several excellent examples of the issue, but in all likelihood as the premier 1952 Washington-Carver half dollar, at least in terms of visual appeal. Absolutely beautiful emerald-green, purple-rose, and yellow-golden iridescence blankets each side, and the impeccably preserved surfaces glisten with superb luster. Other than a couple of tiny nicks, on obverse and reverse alike, the coin seems pristine. One of just three pieces graded at MS67, by PCGS, with none graded any finer at either of the major services (01/05).
