Description:
Brilliant Gem 1805 JR-2 Dime, Four Berries Reverse
1805 10C 4 Berries MS65 NGC. JR-2, R.2. The dimes of 1805 are one of the most frequently encountered dates of the type in Mint State grades, along with the 1796 and 1807. This high grade example has the usual strong definition on Liberty's hair while the eagle's breast and shield are somewhat weakly detailed as is characteristic for this die pairing. Each side shows a bright, silver-gray appearance with bright mint frost. An early Draped Bust dime that is sure to be eagerly sought out by advanced type collectors. Census: 16 in 65, 11 finer (4/07).(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 236S, PCGS# 4477)
