Description:

1807 JR-1 Dime, MS63
Typical Late Die State
1807 10C MS63 PCGS. JR-1, R.1. A typical 1807 dime, this example shows clash marks, die bulges, and other signs of deterioration on both sides. A single obverse die was used to produce 165,000 dimes in 1807, and the reverse die was also used for quarter eagles. The strike is weak along the left side of the obverse and reverse as nearly always on these coins. Most of the central details are sharper, also typical of this issue. Trivial surface marks are present, with frosty silver luster and no evidence of toning on either side. Population: 34 in 63 (1 in 63+), 27 finer (8/13).(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 236T, PCGS# 4480)
