Description:
1795 B-5, BB-27 Flowing Hair Dollar
XF40, Ideal Three Leaves Type Coin
1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Three Leaves XF40 PCGS Secure. B-5, BB-27, R.1. Bowers-Borckardt Die State III, cracked from the left stem to the nearby rim. By far the most available die pair among the Flowing Hair, Three Leaves marriages of 1795, the B-5, BB-27 is also a popular variety among type collectors. This Extremely Fine example is diffusely radiant on the obverse with more concentrated remnants of luster on the reverse, making it ideal for display with the latter side up. Gold, blue, and gray toning is more intense on the reverse, and aside from light pinscratches on either side of the portrait and between STATES and OF on the reverse, marks are few.
