Description

Choice XF 1795 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves Dollar

1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves XF45 NGC. B-9, BB-13, R.3. Die State I. A berry outside the wreath between the ST in STATES identifies the reverse, while the obverse features the final star close to the bust. A lavender-gray representative of this better Bolender variety. The major devices offer pleasing definition, and the obverse is refreshingly unabraded. The reverse is also clean except for a few wispy handling marks above the eagle that are concealed by the blanket of natural patina. Flowing Hair Silver Dollars were only struck for the first two years of the denomination, and since the 1794 is a major rarity, the 1795 is requisite for early type set collectors.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
