Lustrous AU53 1800 B-17 Dollar1800 $1 12 Arrows AU53 PCGS. B-17, BB-196, R.1. This is the most common early Dollar variety for 1800. Most specimens seen are easy to attribute as they show a raised clash mark on the neck and bust of Liberty. However, two specimens are known to this cataloger that were struck from an earlier state of the dies before this clashing. Both of these specimens reside today in two different Delaware specialists collections. The true diagnostic for this die marriage is the line that extends to the left and down from the lower left of the 1 in the date. This is diagnostic as these obverse and reverse dies were only used to strike this one die marriage. This is an exceptionally pleasing example that has bright, lustrous surfaces and a light accent of gray and golden-lilac toning over each side. Well struck and equally well centered, there are no obvious abrasions on either side of this lovely coin.
