Late Die State 1800 'B-18' Dollar, Same Dies as B-131800 $1 Fine 15 PCGS. B-13, BB-193, R.4. Die State III. Reiver Die State b. It is now known that the varieties identified as B-13 and B-18 are merely states of the same die combination. The rare early states are the B-13 pieces while the plentiful late states are B-18. This piece is a late die state with heavy clash marks through the clouds below OF, representing B-18 per the Bolender attribution scheme. Bolender erroneously described the reverse: "Die break like a spray extending from tip of right eagle's wing through F and clouds to second and third stars on right." Pleasing light to medium gray surfaces with lighter color on the devices. A couple small field nicks are evident just above and left of the hair ribbon.
