Terminal Die State 1801 B-1, BB-2111801 $1 B-1, BB-211, R.2. VF30 NGC. Star 8 close to Y, star 13 distant from bust; Outer arrow point under center of U. Reiver die state c. Bowers-Borckardt die state V. This coin boasts lovely blue and gold peripheral toning with bright silver to the centers. Better than average surfaces for the grade with only a few minor handling marks. On this final die state the reverse shows a dramatic bulge through MER which combines with extensive clash marks on both the obverse and reverse die. Note the clashed wing tip near the outer tip of the second star on the obverse, and the clouds and portions of TES through the date, on the reverse the clashmarks are stronger, with star points clearly defined above and below the left wing tip, the date near OF, and drapery lines in that same area. It was just about scrap heap time for the reverse die when this coin was struck.
