Description:
PCGS 1797 Large Eagle XF 40. B. 2-C. First year of the heraldic eagle type and a median rarity in the series. This variety is characterized by the "cross" star arrangement on the reverse and the alignment of the second and eighth stars toward the eagle's eye. A much scarcer variety, this coin has pleasing greenish-gold color and shows just a trace of light reddish patina on the highpoints of the central devices on each side. There are a few small field marks on each side, none of which are large enough to mention individually. (NGC ID# 25ZY, PCGS# 8559)
